French Bulldog — temperament, care and breeding in Dog Kennel Simulator
A Parisian companion dog from the mid-19th century, best known for the upright "bat ears" that American fanciers preferred.

About the breed
History
The French Bulldog comes from Paris, France, where it appeared in the mid-19th century, apparently as a cross of Toy Bulldogs from England with local Parisian ratters. It was bred as a companion dog.
Its upright “bat ear” became the breed standard after American fanciers preferred it over the folded “rose ear”, and in the early 20th century it was a high-society dog in the United States.
The American Kennel Club lists it in the Non-Sporting Group and recognised it in 1898; its nickname is the Frenchie. AKC lists the Boston Terrier, Bulldog, Bull Terrier, Miniature Bull Terrier and Pug as related breeds.
Temperament
AKC describes the French Bulldog as adaptable, playful and smart, and it barks infrequently. AKC rates its energy level 3 of 5, its trainability 4 of 5 and its barking level 1 of 5.
AKC describes a big personality that can be stubborn but is a people pleaser, and it recommends food motivation and turning training into a game.
Care
According to AKC, a short walk or play session each day is enough exercise, and the breed can take part in obedience, agility and rally.
AKC recommends weekly brushing and keeping the facial folds clean and dry. It rates its grooming frequency 1 of 5 and its shedding level 3 of 5.
The French Bulldog stands 28–33 cm and weighs under 13 kg. The life span is given as 10–12 years.
