Making money: sales, buyers, orders and loans

Money pays for feed, training, wages and upgrades. This guide covers every way to earn it, what drives a dog’s price, and what happens when it runs out.

Selling a dog

A dog’s value comes from its current stats and its potential, plus $50 for each level above 1. A direct sale pays 80% of the value, scaled by health and traits, plus a bonus for its competition record.

  • A dog that is still adapting after you bought it sells for 10% less.
  • A freshly groomed dog sells for 5% more.
  • While a photographer is working, sales pay an extra 15–25%.
  • You can’t sell a dog that is confiscated, training or at a competition, or a mother whose litter you haven’t claimed yet.

Advice: sell healthy dogs — a dog at half health fetches half the base price.

Before you confirm a sale, a reward ad can raise that sale’s price by 25%, up to three times a day. Every 1st, 2nd or 3rd place a dog wins adds to its price for good.

Buyer offers

Buyers ask for a dog of a certain breed and age, sometimes with minimum stats. They pay 20% to 50% more than the dog’s value, plus 5% for each stat they ask for. New offers arrive every 4 hours, and each lasts 4 hours. A dog with less than 50 health sells to a buyer at half the price.

The hospital order

The city hospital wants an adult Labrador with Orientation of at least 60 and one other stat of at least 50. It pays $2,000, 1 medal and 50 reputation, and the dog leaves your kennel. The second stat it asks for changes every 3 days.

The photographer

Hiring the photographer costs $200 and lasts 8 hours. During that time sales pay 15–25% more, and up to two photo offers can arrive for your dogs.

Competitions

Prize money goes up to $800 for winning the Regional Championship. The competitions guide covers fees and prizes for all three events.

Other income

In the finances window you can watch a reward ad for money up to four times a day: $100 plus $75 for each kennel level. Medals can also be exchanged for money: 10 medals buy $300.

Running costs

  • Caretakers cost $300, $600 and then $1,000 to hire, and their daily wages are $40 plus $10 for each caretaker already on staff.
  • Feed costs $25, $55 or $90 per kg.
  • Breeding costs $80, and training costs $5 plus $2 per dog level above 1.

Loans

The bank opens at kennel level 2.

$5,000$5,400$2,700202
$10,000$11,200$2,800453
$20,000$23,000$2,8758105

Payments are due every 7 days. A missed payment adds 10% of the amount borrowed and costs 2 reputation.

Debt and confiscation

You can go into debt: up to $500 at kennel level 1, then up to your bank limit. If you hit that limit, all your caretakers leave.

A dog whose health falls to 25 triggers a warning, and at 10 it is confiscated. You then have 24 hours to rescue it for $100 and 50 medals, and it comes back with 50 health. Each reward ad you watch takes 15 medals off, up to three ads per dog: 50, then 35, 20 and 5 medals. Two ads and your starting 25 medals are enough.

Advice: keep a cash buffer for wages and feed, so a bad day doesn’t turn into confiscated dogs.
